Application Deadlines for B.Sc. graduates from our ISP

Description of the Graduate Program in Management starting October 2009

Candidates for the degree of Master of Science in Management must earn 46 academic credits (equivalent to 120 ECTS credit points), and submit/present a satisfactory master's thesis.

The first and second semesters are reserved for obligatory graduate coursework and two elective seminars. In the third semester, students must earn 28 ECTS points by either choosing the practice module (guided practical internship), the international research module (studies abroad), or the interdisciplinary research-oriented module (course offerings from other faculties of our university).

Academic credits are earned by passing the written exams that are taken in the lectures and seminars that constitute the curriculum of the program. The number of credits that are earned by passing an exam is commensurate to the number of instructional hours that are received in the lecture or seminar per week.

A master's thesis, demonstrating that candidates have the ability to independently treat a selected topic using the scientific methods learned in the program, is required. It has to be written under the supervision of a staff professor of the faculty in English. The time limit for the preparation and submission of this thesis in its final form is four months. The master's thesis must be submitted for evaluation before the deadline has elapsed.

Über den DBSThose applicants whose Bachelor degree was obtained in a discipline different from Management or Economics, or whose degree is for other reasons not deemed equivalent to the rather mathematically oriented Bachelor's degree of our Faculty, will, as a rule, get admission to the Master program upon the condition precedent of one propaedeutic semester in which, according to the terms of the applicable Study Rules, the following undergraduate-level subjects have to be completed and passed successfully: Intermediate Microeconomics, Financial Management, Decision Analysis and Management Accounting. The successful completion of these subject examinations constitutes the basis for the further continuation of the Master studies.
